The Moving Body
The Moving Body has been a pioneer in Singapore's movement landscape since 2009. We offer a comprehensive range of services including Pilates, Gyrotonic®, and Physiotherapy, all under one roof.
Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that movement is essential for a high quality of life. Our multi-disciplinary team collaborates to support clients through every stage of their wellness journey, from rehabilitation to peak physical conditioning.
“So delighted we found this wonderful studio! Me & my friend have been taking private sessions with Analyn, who is an amazing instructor. She exudes positive energy, compassionate and is a great motivator. We're new to CoreAlign & Gyrotonic, and she demonstrates and explains everything so well. The imbalances in our posture and the way I carry myself have benefited from the exercises. Highly recommended!”

“I am a stroke survivor. Almost 1yr ago, someone asked me to try out Pilates, I was reluctant but I still go for it. I am glad that I tried. I have a fantastic awesome instructor, Atsuko. She has patience and think of ways to reach me when I cannot comprehend because of brain injury. She has helped me to be more confident, to reach where I couldn't believe I could. She is a GEM.”

“I've been with their Bukit Timah studio for many years. They have a strong pool of experienced instructors, including several truly excellent ones. The staff are friendly and helpful, and most importantly, there's no hard selling. Prices are reasonable. A great choice if you're looking for a reliable studio.”

“"At one point, I felt very insecure — always worried about doing things in case I fell or broke something."”
“When Mimi first came to The Moving Body, she wasn't pursuing fitness goals. She was seeking reassurance, safety, and a way to reconnect with her body.”
“In her 70s, after undergoing cancer treatment and a hip replacement, movement felt fragile and uncertain. Mimi came to the studio simply to explore whether she could regain her mobility — and whether her body would allow it. Through patient, gentle guidance and consistent support, Mimi gradually rebuilt trust in her body. Session by session, movement shifted from something she feared to something that felt possible again.”
“Today, she feels more supple, with a significant improvement in her balance and overall sense of wellbeing. Elements that become increasingly important as we age.”
“"Guiding me back into mobility was a very important part of healing," Mimi shares.”
“Mimi has been part of The Moving Body community for 11 years. She continues to return not only for the movement itself, but for the care, consistency, and belief that it is never too late to feel strong, supported, and at ease in one's body.”
Caroline's Search for Strength and Confidence Through Pilates
"Pilates has helped me with body awareness and learning to correct myself. I love working with Sheryl because she's so patient. She's making me more brave, more courageous."
Meet Caroline Sebunya, a valued member of The Moving Body community. Through our personalized private sessions, Caroline discovered how Pilates could transform not just her body, but her confidence. With expert guidance, she gained the tools to manage her lower back pain and move with greater ease.
Her journey is a testament to how consistent practice and the right support can help anyone build strength, resilience, and self-assurance. We're proud to be part of Caroline's Pilates experience and inspired by her courage every step of the way.

Stronger Together, Sisters in Movement: Emily & Amanda
For sisters Emily and Amanda, Pilates has become more than just a workout. It is a weekly ritual they genuinely look forward to. Attending duet sessions together at our Bukit Timah studio, they have carved out dedicated time each week to move, reconnect, and take care of their bodies side by side.
Guided by their instructor, Gabby, each session is thoughtfully tailored to support them where they need it most. Over time, they have noticed meaningful changes, including improved posture, increased strength, and greater flexibility. They feel stronger in their everyday movements, experience fewer muscle aches, and move through life with a renewed sense of ease and mobility.
Pilates has also helped them develop a deeper awareness of their bodies, allowing them to better understand how they move, where they need support, and how to care for themselves. Perhaps most special of all is the shared experience. These weekly sessions have become a space for bonding and a way for Emily and Amanda to support each other's health while strengthening their connection as sisters.

Kate Warsop: Regaining Mobility and Confidence Through Pilates
At 60, Kate Warsop, an English teacher, has faced significant physical challenges throughout her life. She has osteoporosis and has undergone multiple surgeries, including procedures for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fractures of her sternum and wrist, removal of base spurs from both shoulders, spinal fusion (C6–C7), and arthroscopies of both knees.
Despite these obstacles, Kate was determined to reclaim her strength, mobility, and confidence. "Before I started, I walked around like a turtle searching for food—my posture was appalling," she recalls. Through personalized Pilates sessions with her instructor, Kelvin, she has learned to move safely, protect her joints, and rebuild her core stability.
"Kelvin's knowledge of anatomy is incredible. He explains clearly how repeating certain movements will benefit the body. He's encouraging, but also knows when to push me a little harder and when my body has reached its limit."
Her practice has helped improve posture, ease daily discomfort, and restore a sense of control over her body. Kate has also noticed the supportive community around her: "The bonds between clients and instructors here are symbiotic in the best way—everyone genuinely supports each other."
Kate's journey is a powerful reminder that no matter your age or medical history, it's possible to regain strength, resilience, and confidence. With the right guidance and consistent practice, Pilates can be transformative—even after years of surgeries and health challenges.
